Your letter of October 18th has been received.
The FBI does not have any publications for dis-
tribution concerning Alphonse Capone; however, you may wish
to refer to "The FBI Story," a book written by Don Whitehead,
which contains some data relative to him. You may be able to
obtain a copy of it at your school or local library.
For your information, Capone was sentenced on
October 24, 1931, for violation of the Federal income tax laws
which do not come within the investigative jurisdiction of the
FBI. He was released from the Federal Correctional Institution,
Terminal Island, California, on Janvary 19, 1939, and died on
January 25, 1947, at Palm Island, Miami, Florida.
_,, Enclosed is some literature which I hope you will
find of interest.
