On Saturday, May 2, 1970, he observed about 400 to 500 people located in the Commons at about 8:00 PM, Someone rank the Victory Bell and someone proposed that the group go to the ‘ wors to secure more students for the rally. After “<.nagerstoed soneone to propose that the students go to eresiacnk WHITE's house. This did not materialize. ¢advised that he was standing in the area of Taytor Hall a group went to the vicinity of the ROTC Building. Ne opserved sone people throw stones at the Building and believed this groun vould number about 50. Ye moved to the middle of the Cormons but was still approximately 103 yares from the kOTC Lvilding when he observed flares being thravin at the Ruilding and saw soncove ignite a curtain in the ROTC Bullding. This was approximately 8:30 or 8:45 PN, aiczdh He observed fire men arrive and noted that their hoses were severed. He could not identify any of the individuals responsible for throwing stones or setting fire to the ROTC Building. It was his impression at this time that the fire had terminated and he returned to his room but subsequently observed that the fire was re-ignited. Qn May 4, 1870, he did not attend his 9:45 AM class About 12:G0 noon, he was located on the sidewalk in front of Taylor Hall. He observed a number of people on tho Connons in tho area of the Beil. He could not identify any ef the individuals who were speaking at this time.
