He identificd himself as a Freshman student
residing in Johnson Hall, Kent State University (XS5U), Kent,
Ohio,
Ne said that on the night of Saturday, May 2, 1970,
be observed the burning of the ROTC Building on campus fron
the roof of Johnson Hall, He stated he saw flares being huricd
inte the building by sone denonstrators and other demonstrators
chopping at fire hoses with machetes, however, he was too far
away fron the scene to be able to identify any of the
denonstrators,.
On Nonday, May 4, 1970, he observed the demonstration
on the Commons from Johnson Yall.but again was too far fron
the scene to make any identifications. He observed the
shooting hy the Onin KRetional Guardsmen but was too far away
to Lurnish any detailed information.
Me recalled that on Sunday evening, May 3, 197¢C,
while walking across camps ahcorved some students inclucing
one known to him only 2s Qigwmeeeses a third floor resident
of Johnson Hall, remove what appeared to be some soft drink
bottles from sone bushes. He did not notice if they had been
fashioned into molotov cocktails These students were then
lost in the crowd of demonstrators. Ne adéed he menticned
this incident to the Kent. State University (MSU) police. He
stated he did not actually see anyone making gasoline bombs.
