Re: Remarks of Functionaries of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union Regarding Henry Winston Among those present at this conference were: Dimitri Shevilyagin, who is a Deputy of Boris Ponomarev, _ the Head of the International Department, CCCPSU; Nikolai Viadimirovich Mostovets, Head of the North and South American Section of the Internatienal Department, CCCPSU; Aleksei Andreevich Grechukhin, Assistant to Mostovets and also Head of the United States Section of the International Department, CCCPSU, and Igor Michaelov, member of the International Department, CCCPSU and Deputy to Mostovets. At this conference, Shevlyagin stated that when Henry Winston was released from prison he gave a press interview which was published almost in full in "Pravda." "{Pravda' is the organ of the Central and Moscow Committees of the CPSU. It is a central newspaper published in Moscow." This information is stated in "U.S.S.R. Information Bulletin," a publication of the Embassy of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, page 265, May le, 1952, | issue. . Sheviyagin remarked that the Soviets admire fen Winston very much as a Communist and that they are ‘proud of him and that they have invited him and his family to Russia as guests of the CCCPSU where he will receive all the medical attention available. Shevlyagin stated that if Winston were to die they would accept his children and raise them in the proper | manner and that they would return the children to the | CP, USA anytime the said Party so desired,
