The Director's memorandum to the Attorney General in the
captioned matter relating to the views of the Soviets on the present war
danger and their appraisal of the President was delivered to the Attorney
General on his arrival at his office this afternoon. The Attorney General
said he was most appreciative and this information was most significant.
As a matter di fact, the Attorney General is to attend a special meeting
called by the President at the White House tomorrow relative to the Berlin
Situation. Accordingly, the information in the Director's memorandum was
most timely.
