Whether the Agency did or did not have at least one copy of the Taylor report squirreled away from the time of its completion is a moot point1 but as late as the fall of 1971 when a representative of the Inspector General's staff was attempting to declassify papers at the request of the White House, including the Taylor Committee Report on the Bay of Pigs, he reported to Colonel L. K. White, then Executive Director-Comptroller, that inasmuch as the Agency did not have - a copy of the report it could not be declassified.
