MEMORANDUM FOR TES RECORD SUBJECT : Project MKULTRA, Subproject 22 1. The purpose of this Subproject is to provide fund3 to continue the writ of Prof; ***• isolation of psychogenic c<*a- = pounds from natural products. Prof . has been working on Rivea Corymbosa and Amanita Muscaria and has been able to isolate a number of interesting n^terials from these sources. . , 2 . Progress in this field has been somewhat delayed due to diffi- culties in obtaining properly^documented raw materials; however, sources hare now been developed which should correct this difficulty and make possible the : completion of the project . The recent success of the Swiss Chemists in isolating and elucidating the structure of a new psycho- chemical from a fungus indicates the feasibility and the necessity of continuing work of this type. 3. The will serve as cutout for transfer of funds to the investigator. The estimated cost of the work is $9,867*00. To this oust be added the 4$ service charge to the cutout, thus the total cost for one year will not exceed $10,261.68. 4.
