AIR MAIL { ° (Priority or Method of Mailing) | Director, FBI (187-1025) SAC, Birmingham (157-352) U. S. Attorney MACON L, WEAVER, in the course of discussions on other matters on 1-17-64, mentioned that U. 5S. District Court Judge CLARENCE W. ALLGOOD has not forgotten the request of the Grand Jurors to hear at least a token summary report concerning the Bapbomb case. He stated the Judge will , undoubtedly bring up the subject matter again prior to 9/10/64 when the current Federal Grand Jury is called back in service. U. S. Attorney WEAVER said Judge ALLGOOD is reasonable. to deal with and he, WEAVER, feels strongly that we can give some short oral token report to the Federal Grand Jury, off-the- record (with no transcript being made), that will satisfy the Grand Jurors without compromising any FBI sources or jeopardizing any current investigation. ureau = AM 9-Birmingham 2 wen [ST ads-" ates @ JAN 28 ‘964 ao?
