By memorandum 2/17/76 (copy attached for ready
reference) the CRD advised it concurs in cur proposed response
to Mayor Vann.
Attached for approval is a teletype to SAC,
Birminghan, instructing that he respond to Mayor Vann in line
with the above proposal. Teletype also clarifies one aspect
of prior request of Mayor Vann regarding his asking for
review of results of our investigation of incident involving
the beating of Freedom Riders at a bus depot in Birmingham
in 1961.
RECOMMENDATION:
That attached teletype be approved.
