I believe existing law empowers Federal intervention to a degree by making it a Federal crime to cross a state line in order to escape prosecution resulting from a crime such _. as a church bombing. Does the FBI use this provision as a basis for Federal investigation of such a crime? Is the ; FBI currently active in investigating the Birmingham church Dons bombing as a help to state and local law enforcement agen- Scghe ‘cies?
