All of the hijackers, except one, were uneniployed while in the US. The one hijacker whe had a job worked for only bvo weeks. « The hijackers established US bank accounts and used automated teller machines (ATM's) fo get cash, etc. Many of these bank accounts were Joint accounts, Most of the hijackers also obtained debit cards. They also used Western Union and other wire services to send and receive money, as well as bank to bank transfers, ° Several hijackers kept themselves physically Al by joming local gyros. * The hijackers stayed in smail groups and moved numerous times during their stay in the US. Three of the pilots, however, rented apartments and stayed in one area for approximately six months while they were in fight school. ‘ The hijackers owned four cars and they reutinely rented cars. * The pilots spoke the best English and were typically the ones who rented cars, made hotel reservations, rented apartments, etc. The non-pilots apparently spoke some English, but not as well as the pilots. ‘ The pilots had the bare minimum experience necessary to attend jet simulator training.
