It almost seems it was just aimed at general ; ‘human weakness rather than serious public vice. It appears ' ‘you fellows just decided to try to see who can withstand or ‘succumb to some fast cash. Some call this entrapment, but I gall it scarey. I'm sure I did 100 illegal things last year, ut since most of them are in the jay walking category, I freatly don't worry. This Abscam thing almost makes me feel f some paranoia and worry: is someone out there watching? I'm ‘sure it's foolish, but it's not a good feeling to give the country again. I hope I'm wrong about motives, or, if I'm correct, that you change such programs. ‘| jJust one more comment, and that is that while I've heard jsome say the program may irrepairably damage the Congressmen's ‘careers, I'm afraid the opposite is true: you may have insured ‘their reelection by cauing sympathy.
