In August of 1936, it was alleged that Zwiliman
had interests in the following: Tavern Restaurent, Newark,
How Jersey, Bluse Dismond, Narr-Kegtap Company, J. & J.
Distributors Company, Newark, New Jersey, Joseph Reinfeld
Company, Blue Mirror Night Club, Newark, New Jersey, Publie
Sarviee Fohacee Company, Hillside, New Jarzey, Weaton & Compenr.
Browne-Vintner Company, Incorporated, Ster Bowling end Billiard
Academy, Borok's Purnitare Company, Poth's Distributing Company,
Gelavorthy Wine and Liquors, United Brewing Company, Nowark,
Now Jersey, and the United States Yeast Company.
Tt is believed the United States Yeast Company is -
no longer in existence, however, in 1935 or 1936, Joel Reed,
Attorney of the New “ngland Yeast Company, the orgenizetioan
ont af which the United States Yeast Company was formed.
advised thet Zwillman held a $2,000 mortgage on the proper ty
of the United States Yeast Company. Any further holdings in
this company by Zwillman were not indicated.
By memorandum dated Octeber S, 1918, to Mr. Peyton
Ford, the Aasistant to the Attorney General, captioned
“abner Zwillman, alias Gongy!Zwillean, Income Tax Evasion,”
this Bureau advised that Zwillman's nase appears in the case
entitled "United States Yeast Corporation; Interference by
Violence with Interstate Commerce,* and "Fur Dressing
Investigation; Louisa Buchalter, with allases, Antitrosts
Harboring; Conspiracy."
Vivian Mathie, who was for a number of years the
paramour of Verne C, Miller until he was kilied, was inter~
viewed at Sioux Fells in December, 1935. She stated that .
immediately after the Kansas City massacre in which an PBI:

killed and for which massecre Verne Miller wes being sought,
