Capone was sentenced on October 24, 1931, for violation of the Federal income tax laws which do not come within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBL He was released from the Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island, California, on January 19, 1939, and died on January 25, 1947, at Palm Island, Miami, Florida.
