In reply to your letter of October 24th, the FBI has
no information concerning Al Capone which we can send to you.
"The FBI Story” by Don Whitehead, to which you were previously
referred, contains some data relative to him.
Capone was sentenced on October 24, 1931, for
violation of the Federal income tax laws, which does mot come
within the investigative jurisdiction of the FBI, He was released
from the Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island, Cali-
fornia, on January 19, 1939, and died on January 25, 1947, at
Palm island, Miami, Florida.
