The Attorney General In cases where we are protecting the privacy of a third party, it is extremely important to maintain a uniform response to all requests which will preclude any inferences being made by the reauester. Simply put, it is our position that in these situa- tions where the right of privacy of third parties is at issue, the requester is entitled to no information whatsoever and any information we do furnish, even when negative, opens the door to assumptions which could be damaging to the third party.
