Bureau. He stated that the Director in his opinion was the world's
greatest leader in law enforcement and that the Bureau was the country's
leading law enforcement organization. w#e directed a cordial letter of
appreciation to Congressman Gore, on February 26, 1951, on the basis of
this memorandum.

In March, 1954, Gore was placed on the"not to contact list”as
a result of an interview he had with Inspector DeLoach. Gore was
contacted to clarify any misapprehensions by Gore concerning the method
of FBI investigations and the indications of source of informavion in
Buftles. At the inception of the interview, Gore tmmediately began
casting aspersions on the FBI and FBI activities. He called the Far "a
