THERE IS LITTLE INDUSTRY IN THE COUNTY AND THE - EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC LEVEL OF MOST OF THE RESIDENTS IS LOW. THE NUMEROUS REMOTE WOODED AREAS ARE UTILIZED BY CAR THEIVES FOR STRIPPING ACTIVITIES. CARS ARE STOLEN IN THE OTHER SURROUNDING COUNTIES AND TRANSPORTED TO GRUNDY COUNTY FOR STRIPPING. DURING INVESTIGATIONS BY BUREAU AGENTS, STRIPPED AUTOMOBILES HAVE BEEN LOCATED IN GRUNDY COUNTY, WHICH WERE DETERMINED TO BE STOLEN WITHIN THE STATE. APPROPRIATE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES WERE ADVISED IN EACH “INSTANCE.
