In December, - _—— 947, he made the following statement; "I came to America because of th dhe creat, great freedom which I heard existed in this country. I made a \ mistake in selecting America as a land of freedom, a mistake I cannot \ 2 ee ew Q crinjce repair in the balance of my life.* He is one of the most eminent scientists - ve ~lin the world today. He received his formal education in Germany and Switzer ; te Jand. In 1905, he stated that mass and energy were equivalent and suggest ON \ that proof of this equivalence might be found by fhe study of radio active ot ~-/ ile Substances. In 1939, Alexander Sacks talked to President Roosevelt and “'€1 presented a letter from Einstein resulting in the original grant of §6, a Niel WA toe’ EG for -the Army and Navy which money was later snowballed into §2,000,000 “ end the atomic bomb. He was offered an opportunity to go to Russia but aS _ not do so. On February 13, 1950, the Atomic Energy Commission advised that -_ Einstein has never been granted a formal clearance by the Manhatten Ingineer District which means that he was never investigated by MED and that no formal clearance was ever granted to Einstein by the Atomic Energy Commission which means that the AEC has never requested the FBI to conduct an investigation as __s ll required under the Atomic Energy Act. No Bureau investigation has ever been conducted on him.
