ISONERS * CONSPIRACY SAC Price, San Francisco, called at 8:23 p.m., 6-15-62, and advised of the following developments in the Alcatraz escape case. A man and his wife at ba. approximately 3:30 p.m. PDT, were walking along a section called Cronkhite Beach, an area approximately 3 3/4 miles west of the Golden Gate Bridge, outside the Golden Gate on the Pacific in Marin County. nie... an object floating in the surf approximately eet from the shore. Approximately 10 minutes later the object washed ashore and was noted to be a life jacket which was taken by him to the Sausalito Police Department who in turn called the San Francisco Office. The San Francisco Office has the jacket and an SA working on this case has identified it as identical in makeup and composition and similar to the other life jacket which the San Francisco Office had obtained from subject Qi The jacket is pretty much intact. It has a small tear in one seam which would be sufficient to allow air to escape. The paperclip which was designed to place on the tube of the jacket to hold th in was missing. The jacket was not torn or cut up. Subjec b previously stated it was the intention of the subjects to cut and tear up the life jackets when they reached shore and throw them back into the ocean, SAC Price advised that it still can't be concluded whether or not the subjects had reached .shore.
