Some of it will be condemnation from the con- clusion-jumpers; some will be pratse from the thoughtful. But whatever the reaction, Kinsey will go right on wading into his big job. In the next twenty years his staff intends to produce eight more volumes on the following subjects: ~~~... Serual behavior tn the human female Serual factors in marital adjustment Legal aspects of sex behavior The heterosexual-homoserual balance Serual adjustments in instituttonal populetions Prostitution 9" Sex education , ae —- Other special problems.” — "SEXUAL BEHAVIOR IN THE HUMAN MALE" (Kinsey Report) This book was published by the W. B. Saunders Co. (Medical Publishers) in 1948 and carried three co-authors names, Alfred C. Kinsey, Wardell B. Pomeroy and Clyde E. Martin, but tt has been referred to commonly as the Kinsey Report. The book contatns 804 pages and ts “ filled with statistical charts. . "SEX HABITS OF AMERICAN MEN", a book edited by Albert Deutsch . Shortly after the appearance of the Kinsey Report the above titled book was published in the same year 1948. It carried a subtitle, "4 Sympostum on the Kinsey Report." The book was dedicated, "To Alfred C. Kinsey and His Co-Workers," "whose pioneer explorations in the tabooed territories of ser are opening up new paths of truth toward knowledge and human happiness." This book ts a sertes of short articles written by 14 different men and women reviewing the Kinsey Report from 14 different aspects, anthropological, psychtatrical, soctological, etc. KINSEY REPORT CAUSED A FUROR IN UNITED STATES Following publication of the Kinsey report thousands upon thousands of words were printed both in protest against it and commen- dation for tt. Articles were published in magazines and newspapers indicating the pro and con feelings. Typtcal of these articles are gome appearing in the New York Times in 1948. Drs. J. Eisenbud and M. Mead scored Kinsey report shortcomings from soctological and psycho-= logical point of view. (March 31st issue, pg. 27, col. 5) American Social Hygiene Association at their 3 day conference criticized the Kinsey report from religious and moral points of view.
