The project comes at the invitation of a group of citizens in Orangeburg, and it will act under the direction of the Voter Education Project. ™ia is a project in citizenship training. It will work Shrovch other organizations in setting up a series of work- . shops, desizneé to increase knowledge on the part of local. citizens about local, state, and national go crnment and to encourage nore effective participation in civic affairs. The project men ogrs wili aleo participate in various aspects of 7 community life—churches, work projects, recreation, home visit~ ing and reetinga of other organizations. Since the promotion of frecdom at home and abroad requires that each c**tzen exercise his rights fully and feare lessly, religious, social and educational agencies in our aocicty should advise individuals of their rights and responsibilities and protect the free exeréice of them.
