CO —- DECLARATION OF CONSCIENCE Because the use of the military resources of the United States in Vietnam and elsewhere suppresses the espirations of the people for political independence and gconomio freedon; Because inhuman torture and senseless killing are being carried out by forces armed, 1 uniformed, trained and financed by the United States; Because we believe that all peoples of the earth, including both Americans and non-Americans, have an inalienable right to life, liberty, and the peaceful pursuit of happiness in their own way: and Because we think that positive steps must be taken to put an end to the threat of nuclear catastrophe and death by chemical or biclogical warfare, whether these result from accident or escalaticn-- .
