This adv+sbisement announced the : formation of the FPCC in New York City and declared “+ FPCC intended to premul- | gate "the truth about revolutionary Cuba't te neutraiice the distorted American press. ’ "The New York Times" edition of January 11. 1961, reported that ata hearing conducted before the United States Senate Invernei Security Subcommittee on January 10, 1961, Dre Charles A. Santos-Buch iden-ified himself and Robert -Taber as organizers of the FPCC. He also testified he and Taber obtained funds -. from the Cuban Government which were applied toward vhe cost of the aforementioned * sdvertisemant, . Qn May 16, 1963, a source advised that curing the first two years of the. FPCCts existence there was a struggle between Comminist Party (CP) and Socialist Workers Party (SwWP) elements to exert their power within the FPCC and thereby ‘ dnfluence FPCC policy. Dodd of Connecticut had called FPCr "the chief public relations instrument of the Castro network in the United Statez."
