C.) to the effect that the Embassy Buenos Aires had received informetion from the Greek Ministry that subject had expressed sentiments inimical to the war efforts of the United States. ESPIONAGE ~ X. Subject was atated to be of Greek origin and reportedly a citizen of Argentina,from which country he departed at Buenos Aires in June, 1942, for the United States. The investigation conducted at Los Angeles to date has reflected no derogatory infcrmation, and a check of the Immigration files at Los Angeles failed to reveal any information. Los Angeles has requested that the Bureau, through avelleble sources, ascertain specifically the nature of the statements ellegedly made by the subject. This is interpreted to mean that Los Angeles requests a check to be made by SIS in Buencs Aires.
