UNSUB: EARL LEE TERRELL XIDNAPPING Reference Atlanta telephone call to Assistant Director James McKenzie 8/6/80. On 8/6/80, Deputy Director Morris G. Redding (NA), Atlanta Bureau of Police Services, telephonically requested assistance of th FBI Behavioral Science Unit in a matter of deep concern to the department. Director Redding advised that the Atlanta Bureau of Police Services was investigating cases involving twelve young black children. Four of the children's bodies have been recovered and eight children 2re still missing. According to Redding, all of the deaths are different and there was no known sexual molestation. The victims are all young black children from low income families. As a result of this concern by the police department and the Atlanta community, a task force of one Sergeant and four investigators have been assigned exclusively to this matter. Previous telephone contact has been established with the Behavioral Science Unit and the Bureau of Police Services concerning a psychological profile of subject and/or subjects. a hold a conference at the Atlanta Bureau of Police Services wherein police departments from the Atlanta Metropolitan area have heen invited to discuss this matter and ascertain if other departments | have similar cases which may possibly have a connection in this Matter under investigation his department.
