There are obvious» blood» stains on the panties; ‘however.
the victim's mouth, at time of discovery, was partially
eaten away by rodents. Medical examiner also stated that
blood found on panties may have come from purge while
Lanier was being strangled.
The enclosed panties were secured by the local
Atlanta Police Department and submitted to the Georgia State
Crime Lab. Contact with the Georgia State Crime Lah con=-

cluded that to date, no chemical examination of any kind
has been performed on said panties.
Also, the enclosed soil samples, numbers one (1)
thorugh five (5), were taken from the following locations:
(1) The sight in which the body was found;
{2) The residence of the primary suspect;
(3) A relative's house of the primary suspect;
(4 & 5) Area of two different houses where the victim
was possibly held for a period of days.
REQUEST OF THE BUREAU
FBI LABORATORY:
The FBI Laboratory is requested to conduct the
following examinations: ‘
MICROSCOPIC ANALYSIS UNIT:
(1) Conduct appropriate hair and fiber checks to
determine existence of any such material.
(2) Attempt to determine size of panties and
possibility of them being stretched beyond normal limits.
