6-147 (1-13-81) “CRIMINAL “VESTIGATIVE DIVISION x INFORMATIVE NOTE Re: ATKID By attached teletype, Atlanta advises that on 2/13/81 at approximately 1 pm an FBI search team located skeletal remains in the vicinity where other victims of the ATKID case have previously been located. Fulton County Medical Examiner has advised that the remains appear to be that of a young child; however, no positive identification has been made. At approximately 1:55 pm on the same date, the body of a young black male was discovered in a ditch in DeKalb County, Georgia. This body was tentatively identified as that of Patrick Baltazar who was last seen alive 2/6/81. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner advised that the victim died of ligature strangulation and had been dead for a period of more than 72 hours.
