The body of Nathaniel Cater was found floating face down in the Chattahoochee River on Sunday, 5/24/81, after he was last seen at 8:30 pm, Thursday, 5/21/81, at a bar in down- town Atlanta. During the early morning hours of Friday, 5/22/81, a surveillance of the bridge located at the James-Jackson Parkway and Chattahoochee River resulted in an individual being stopped after having dropped an object from the bridge. This individual was subsequently identified as Wayne Bertram Williams. A photo spread, including a photo of Wayne Bertram Williams, displayed in bars victim frequented has failed to produce any positive results.
