DETAILS: VIA is a management technique based on the charting principles of Program Evaluation and Review Technique/Critical Path Method (PERT/CPM) which assists in planning, coordinating, and controlling major complex criminal investigations. VIA is a modified version of PERT/CPM that makes use of a chart or network to graphically display the sequential and concurrent order of performance and the dependency reJationships of all the job requirements of an investigation. These charts represent case related documents and must be preserved as a part of the substantive FBIHQ file.
