735 Lawton Street, 8.W.
Atlanta, Gaorgia 30310
Dear Me. Clover:
The Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights has
asked me to respond to your letter of August 19, 1982 concerning
the investigation into the matter of the missing and murdered
children in Atlanta.
As you know, the Task Force which investhated this offense
was made up of State and Peceral agents. You may be sure that
all the evidence was carefully evaluated to datermine whether
violations of State or Peleral atatutes existed. After careful
exarination of the evidence, Federal authorities concluded
that no viclations of the Federal criminal statutes could be
established in any of thé cases handled by the Task Force.
iWe are referring your letter to the PBI in Atlanta '
for consideration of tha new evidence which you have brought fi
to our attention.
Sincerely,
Wm, Bradford Reynolds
. Assistant Attorney General
Civil Rights Division
