SA 100-3171 | Upon being interviewed, Subject stated that he was a Spanish citizen, having been born in Bilbao, Spain, on May &, 1909, and that he was employed as secretary to President JOSE ANTONIO AGUIRRE of the Basque Delegation, . 30 Fifth Averme, New York City. Subject stated that he had resided in “france from 1907 to 1938, at which time he came to the United States where, he remained until 1939, According to the Subject, he returned to France in 1939 where he resided in Paris until June, 1940, when, because of the German invasion, he moved to Vichy and Marseilles. Subject advised that during all this period he was employed by ACUIRRE as secretary. ; Subject reported that he was presently returning to the United States from a four months tour of all Latin American countries on official business in his capacity as AGUIRRE's secretary. He etated that in Mexico City he had stopped at Regina KOA, and also at the Hotel Majestic. He advised that he expected to remain in the United States for a period of four months. + nay He was traveling on Mexican Passport J-99, which was issued in Mexico, D.F. on November 18, 1943. Subject departed Brownsville, Texas, via Eastern Airlines on November 23, 1943, enroute to New York City. eettent tad Inasmuch as no further investigation remains to be conducted in this Division, this case is being referred upon completion to the office of orégin. - REFERRED UPON COMPLETION TO THE OFFICE OF ORIGIN - -2- 446
