At the June, 1969, SDS National Convention, Progressive
Labor Party (PLP) forces in the organization were expelled. As a
result, tne Natéecnal Office (NO) group maintained its National
Headquarters at 1608 West Madison Street, Chicaro, and the PLP
faction set up headquarters in Cambradge, Massachusetts. This
headquarters subsequestly moved to Boston. Each group elected its
own national officers, which include three national secretaries and
a National Interim Committee of eight. Both groups atso print their
versions of "Kew Left Notes" which sets forth the Jine and the
progrom of the particular faction. The HO vcroion of “Wew Lefe
Nates"' vis recent}y printed under the tite "The Fire Nexi Time"
to achireve a broader mass appeal.
Txo major factions have developed internally within the
NO group, nam@ly, the Weatherman or Revolutionary Youth Movenesnt
CRYM) I faction. and the RYM TI faction. Weatherman is action-

role of the working class as the base for revolution. RYM IJ main-
tains that revolution, altbough desired, is not posnible under
present conditicns, hence emphasizes organizing and raising the
political consciousness of tre vorking class upon *hom they feel
successiul revolution derends. Although disclaiming control and
domination by the Cemmunist Party, USA, leaders in these two factions
have in the past proclaimed themselves to be communists and to
folJow the precepts of a Marxist-Leninist philosophy, along pro-
Chinese communist Lines.
A second source has advised that the PLP faction which
is more comionty known as the Worker Stucgent Alliance is dominated
and controlled by members of the PLP, who are requircd to identify .
themseives with the Pro-Chinese Marxist-Leninist philoscphy of the
PLP, They advocate that an alliance between vorkers aud students
