During May, 1972, the BPP chapter continued its
| efforts to solicit donations in order to raise an appeal bond
for the three BPP members from High Point, N. C., who were
convicted on assault charges and who are currently confined
in the North Carolina State Prison. The BPP chapter continues
to solicit funds for their Free Breakfast for Children Program
which operated each week day morning during May, 1972. The
Free Breakfast for Children Program was scheduled to terminate
in early June, 1972 with the closing of school. Sources state
the BPP chapter continues to receive small cash donations which
have been sufficient to purchase food for the Free Breakfast
for Children Program as well as feed the BPP members.
On 5/25/72, the BPP sponsored a dance at the Golden
Stag Club, Liberty Street, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Tickets were sold at $2.50 each to raise money for the so-called
survival programs and the dance was labeled as a benefit dance
for political prisoners. Sources report turnout was Light for
the dance, however, BPP members were able to make a small
undetermined amount of profit.

Half the price of the newspapers of $875 would be
owed to the California Headquarters of the BPP in addition to
an estimated $20 per week air freight charge. The BPP
Headquarters at 1333 North Patterson Avenue is being purchased
under a lease-purchase agreement with a mortgage rental of
