During April, 1972, The BPP Chapter continued its efforts to solicit donations in order to raise an appeal bond for the three BPP Members from High Point, N. C., who were ae convicted on assault charges and who are currently confined ae in the North Carolina State Prison. The BPP Chapter continues PR et Rs, 4 ART gies to solicit funds for their Free Breakfast for Children Program which operated each weekday morning during April, 1972. The BPP Chapter has sufficiently improved its mage in the neighborhood and is now receiving regular small cash donations for their breakfast program in the area. Sources state sufficient donations of an undetermined amount were received to allow the BPP members to have sufficient food for the children as well as themselves without having to solicit food from local merchants. The BPP Chapter renewed its free clothing program and was able to solicit sufficient clothing to give away free clothes at BPP Headquarters on 4/23/72. B. FOREIGN SOURCES None reported. C. EXPENSES Half the price of the newspapers or $875.00 would be owed to the California Headquarters of the BPP in addition to an estimated $20.00 per week air freight charge. The BPP Headquarters at 1333 North Patterson Avenue is being purchased under a lease-purchase agreement with a mortgage rental of $100.00 per month to be applied toward the purchase price of the house. The chapter has also rented an apartment at 210 East 14th Street under the name of RICKIE HOOPER.
