on ON . rk re oe we vod: ESPaAys FROM ~ THE MiHiCTSR OF DEFTUSE : HUSY BP. SIWICH _ 18 LEPENSE OF SELF DEVENSE - June po 1967 Laws and rules have always been made to serve people. Rules of —. socicty arc set up by people so that they will be able to function in a harmonioz3 way. In other words, in order to prouste the general welfare of society, rules and taws are establishad by men. Rules Bhould serve men, and not mon cerva rules. Hoch of the tinc, the laws and rules which officials aticunt to inflict wpon poor ptorle are non functional in relztion to the status of the poor in society.” , These officials are blind to the fect that people sheuld not re- Spect that are not serving then. It is the duty of the poor to writa and couctruct rules and laws that are in their better intcrests. This is one of the basic human richts c* all men. Refore 1776, white people wexs colonized by the English. The En- glish government had certain laws and sales that the colonized Ameri- cans vieved as not in their bent interests but as a colonized people. At that time the English governmannt foit that the celenized Aacricans had no richt to establish lers te pronote the general velfere of the people living here in Amerien. ‘The colonized American felt he had no choice but to raise the gun ae in @nafense of the welfare cf the colon- ized people. At this time, he wade cextcain lows insuxing his protec~ tion from external and internal aggrassiens from governments and agencies. One such fox of protection was the Declaration of inde~ enienee, which states: "...wacnevex cny acvernment becomes dastruc- tive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to inctitute a nev covernnent, laying its foundations on such principles and oreanisiag its povers in such feras as to then shail scea most likely to e’ “ect their safety and harpiness." Now these same colcnized white peonle, these ex-slavas, robbers, and thieves, have denied the colenized black man the right to even Bpeax of abol’shing this orpsrecsive: svstem which the vaite colonized American created, They have carried theirs medness to the four corners of the ecarth, and now thers is universel rebellion acainst their con- tinued sele and power. The Dice's peosle in America are the caly poo~ ple who can free the world, locsen the yoke of colonialism and destroy the war machine. As Jong as the wheels of the imperialistic war ma~ chine are turning there is no country thet can defent this moncter of the Vest. But Black people can make a malfunction of this machine from within. Slack people can destroy the machinery that's cnslaving the world. America cannot stand to fight every Black country in the world and fight a civil war at the rome time. ft is militarily in- pissible to do both of these thirgs at once, fhe slavery of Blacks in this country provides the oil. for the ma-~ chinery of war that America uses te enclave the peoples of the world.
