Date Attached relates that a group of Negroes claiming to be Black Panthers broke up the meeting of the Redevelopment Commission in Lumberton, North Carolina, on 10-29-70. Subsequently, there was an exchange of gunfire. Because of this shooting incident and the organization of an organization called National Committee to Combat Fascism (another name for Black Panther Party), there was considerable tension in the Lumberton area.
