WADDELL On June 19, 1972, hr, => North Carolina Central Prison, Raleigh, Nort Carolina, advised JOSEPH IRWIN WADDELL, Negro male, born May 27, 1950, Forsyth County, North Carolina, FBI Number 425-683 H, died June 13, 1972 in Central Prison. Dr. R. PAGE HUDSON, Chief Medical Examiner for the State of North Carolina, advised that WADDELL apparently died of severe heart disease, WADDELL's body was moved from Central Prison to W-ke Memorial Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, where an autopsy was performed. Dr. JAMES R,. EDWARDS, M. D., Pathologist, performed an autopsy on June 14, 1972, and established cause of death in preliminary findings as severe heart disease. WADDELL was a member of tne North Carolina Chapter of the Black Panther Party for a short time prior to his arrest for armed robbery in High Point, North Carolina. On January 20, 1971, WADDELL was convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to 15-20 years imprisonment.
