fhaet te ~ om CE 157-6171 An unknown member of the BPP is planning to or is in the process of observing the area where the Winston-Salem Resident Agency is located and where the FBI cars are parked. This unknown member of the BPP also wishes to observe the FBI Agents who work at the Winston-Salem Resident Agency. The purpose of this planned observation is unknown, LARRY LITTLE, leader of the BPP in Winston-Salen, North Carolina, is of the opinion that in order for the party to be successful it must have the support of the black community. A show of force and firepower would not help them improve their image at this time. source: @& I. FINANCES The principal source of income for the North Carolina BPP chapter is through the sale of the Black Panther weekly newspaper published by the BPP. The chapter receives approximately 4-10,000 copies of the BPP newspaper each month which are sent by air freight from the printer in New York City. The newspaper sells for 25 cents each and half of the proceeds from newspaper sales is forwarded to BPP Headquarters in Oakland, California. The BPP also supplements its income by soliciting donations for the various programs as well as for bond money and legal defense money for its various members who have been prosecuted or are awaiting prosecution. The BPP operates on a cash basis and a cash box is maintained at BPP Headquarters under the control of LARRY LITTLE. Nembers of the BPP are unemployed and devote their full time to their BPP activities which includes xntensive travel throughout North Corolina selling the BPP newspapers.
