It was organized by BOBEY GEORGE SEALE, BPP Chairman, and RUEY P. NEWTON, BPP Minister cof Defense. NEWTOWN is presently serving a sentence cf 2 to 15 yesrs on a conviction of manslaughter in connection with the killing of an Oakland police officer. The official newspaper, “The Bluck Panther," which further describes itself 25 the "Slack Community News Service," states that the BPP advacates the vse G2 gus and guerrilla tactics in its revolutionary program to end oppreasion of the black people. "The Black Panther" issue of September 7, 1968, contains an editorial by BPP Minister of Education, GEORGE MASON MURRAY, whach ends with the following: "Black men. Biack people, colored persons of America, revolt everywhere! Arm yourscives. The only culture worth keeping is 2 revolutionary culture. Change. Freeden everywhere. Dynamite! Black Power. Use the gun. Kill the pigs everywhere." Included in the satroduction to an article appearing in the October 5, 1968, editicna of Phe Gitzeck Panther” is the statement, "... we will nat dissent fron Amrrican Government. We will overthrow it." Issues of "The Black Fanther”’ reguarly contain quotations fros the writings of Chsirman M40 Tse-tung of the People's Republic of China and features MAO'S statement that "political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."
