P.M. The rally started with 18 Negroes, four of them [emales, |...
al} dressed in Black Panther reqalia and marching to the ,
sreaker's stand in column of twos. As these Neqroes marched
to the sreaker's stand they counted cadence, shouted “Power
to the Peorle", reriodically giving the Black Power salute. ..
stated that BENJAMIN CHAVIS acted as MC during
‘ the rally, and introduced the sreakers. One sneaker was -
VEROWICA 7FAAGANS, a member of the Afro American Unity Organization,
who sooke for avereximately four minutes on the theme of -~»olice
brutality. JAG. JOVINGTON was then introduced as an 7
individual who hac recently been released from Federal custody
and could. speak with authority on nolice brutality. Thereafter,
JOHD- " T.UNSFORD was introduced as renresentative of the
Studénts for a Democratic Society (SDS) and he also snake
concerning nolice brutality, and the sur~ort of the SDS for
the Neqro and any other minority race which wa being victimized hy
the relice and the caritalistic society in which the neaste in
the United States are rresently living.’
