are said to have gone up the road several miles and turned off into a road
known as Missouri Highway number 92, and made their wey into some by=roada.
None of the officers went in pursuit of them that night.
The following day Agents Turrou and Brantley went with some
officers and searched tho surrounding country into which the gang ms said to
have gone that night. It was found where they had been. They had tire trouble,
They inquired at two farm hounes for a pump and a jack and finally obtained the
some and repaired their tires, The gang could not be located. Deputy Sheriffs
later found another spot that had been occupied by the gang that night, and a

Sheriff's office at Platte City.
During the aftornoon of August 19th there wis received et the
Sheriff's office a telephone call from the Shoriff at Mt. Ayr, Iowa, to the
effect that some persons head been seen in thet vicinity and were burning some
clothing, and their ections appeared suspicious.
Immediately pon receipt of the fcregoing informstion the Faneas
City Burem Office contacted Park Findley, of the State Bureau of Investigation
of Iowa, and requested him to put this information, and the best descriptions
@vailable of these persons, upon the radio, which was done.
The Sheriff and the County Prosecutor at Platte City atated +hat
they did not know who wes in the cabin prior to the time that they rented it and
did not know until sometime thereafter, or did not even suspect thet it wes the
Barrow galge Photographs of the Berrows were presented to the persons at the
Tourlst camp and to the Sheriff's office, As above stated, Marvin Barrow's
wife was identified as the woman who got the meals, ani Hubert Bleigh was iden-
tified as the person who went into the drug store at Platte City. There was
no question, as this report will show, as to the identify of the persons in the
cabins at Plette Citys
As observed from the report of Special Agent 0. Re Davis, San
Antonio, dated 7-27-1953, Colt 45 Automaticg, numbers 588676, 573279, 527651,
and 615565, have been identified as having been stolen from the Bnid, Oklshom,
