On August 1, 1932, 6 conference was held in the office of Ure
Nugeat Dodds, Assistant Attorney Ganeral, for the purpose of ascer
taining what evidence was available in connection with the Grand ;
Jury proceodings in. the Distriet of Columbia in regard to the eo-
celled bonus march and the riots which.occurred July 28th. Repre-
sentatives of the United States Secret Service, United States Veterans
Administration, Metropolitan Police Departaent, United Etates In
migration Sefvice, and Military Intelligence Division of the War
Depertment, were present, in eddition to United States Attorney
Leo de Rover, Ere Parrish, en attorney in Ur. Dodds! division, Mre
J» Edgar Hoover, Director of the United States Buresu of Investicuticas,
end two of his assistants, Mrs Hughes and Hr. Appel.

Ur, Sloan of the United States Secret Service, stated that the
only information which he had was in the poeseasion of Inspector
Davia of the Hetropolitan Polica Department and stated he had worked

the poliea records of any persons who hed been arrested during the
riots or who hed participated in the bonus march, It was also to s:~
