of the Distinguished Service Cross.
He is a member of the benwus-seck-
ing force.
Connelly, who was treated at a
Washingion hospital for gashos on
the head ufter being clubbed and
gassed during the rioting on Thirs-
day. Hves at 127 West 4th avenue,
Conshohocken, He telephoned his
family there yeslerday. Wolers hada
placed him in charge of 300 Penn-
sylvania bonuseers on Sunday.
Told to Hold Mouses
“Hold those houses, no matter
what happens," he quoted Waters.
“Don't fight the police if it can be
avoided in any way possible, but for
God's sake don’t let them put you
out.”
1 Connelly headed the Consho-
'hocken contingent of twenty vet-
-erans at Anacostia, many of whom
‘were stationed in Government
buildings ordered evacuated. Dur-
ing the World War he crawled out
of a tank and repaired it under
heavy five while a sergeant in the
Tank Corps.
