a ? wo qua FAR EASTERN COMMISSION The Far Eastern Commission is compcsed of representatives of eleven nations and was established to replace the Far Eastern Advisory Commission at the Moscow Meeting of Foreign Secretaries in December, 1945. Under its terms of reference the Far Eastern Commission has two principal functions: (1) "To formvlate the policies, principles and standards in conformity with which the fulfillment by Japan of its objection under the terms of surrender may be ‘ asecomplished.” (2) "To review on the request of any member any directive lesue d to the Suprame Commander for the Allied Powers or any action taken by the Supreme Commander involving policy discussions within the jurisdiction of the yp Comission."
