1951 Spy Case
LONDON, July 2 (UPT).—
Prime Minister Harold Mac-
millan. faced a new scandal
today over the revelation that
a former British diplomat was
the “Third Man" in the 1951
‘Russia,
Lord Brivy Seal Edward
Heath announced in Parlia-
ment-yesterday that H- A. R.
Kia Bhilby, a former British
diplomat and newsman missing
from Beirut, Lebanon, since
January, had fipped off ac-
cused Soviet spies Guy Bur-
gess and Donald MacLean on
May 25, 1951, that British
security officials were onto
them.
Burgess and MacLean, for-
mer Foreign Office officials,
both fled ta Russia the same
day. ;
