informatipn in 1939 that a communist agent of the general description
of Donald“iMaclean had infiltrated the Foreign Office. Such informatto
came from a former Sovtet tntclitgence officer who did not know Hacjea
by name but described him as "a young Scotsman who played around tn th
artistic world." fhe former intelligence officer was identified as
General walter Krivitsky who gave the tnfornation to Isaac Don Levine,
Welease reflected Levine testified that krtvitsky told him tn the 1930

The other man was naned John King who was identified and sentenced to
10 years tn -prtson in 1939, Krivitsky went to London to help tdenttfy
the other one but due to the meager description he was not successful,
