THE PUBLICATION:
The book xetelis the story of Buxsgess and Eaclean, British
diplomats who fled to Russia in May, 1951, when they wore forevarned
of the probable arrest of Maclean. The book goes into great detail
ooncerning the college life of both men, showing bow they were communi
in college. It details their careers and attemp€s to show how their
obvious faults were overlooked, -
fhe book is extrenely critical of MI-5, MI-6, and the Brit:
Poreign Office for alleged mishandling of the case. The author claime
that Burgess was tipped off by a friend an MI-5 of Maclean's imnendine
interview and probable arrest. The book does not mention Harold "Kis‘
