INFORMATION CONCERNING
“The article continued that the invitation was
telegraphed to Governor Brown by leaders of a group that
have plans to hold a mile-long parade down Palm Cmyon Drive
in Palm Springs, in protest of the Governor's refusal to make

The group, identified as the Riverside County
Committee in Support of ope Delane Grape Strikers, said they
planned to esk the Gove xr to back establichment of a state
minimum wage law. Jo Aguilar, identified as Co-Chairman or
the newly-formed co ttee, is quoted as saving, "What he is
being asked to do is simply acknowledge the strike and give
support and encouragement for a minimum wage." Aguilar is a
school leader and holds elective public ofvice as a mamber of
the Riverside City Colleze Boare or Trustces.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 2:30, Laster
Sunday afternoon, and has a route to the downtown area cf
Palz Springs, California.
Aguilar, according to the article, said that some
300 persons have already enlisted for the march and will
include people or various religious faiths, students and
faculty members from the University of California at Riverside.
He also said that the signs to be carried will be subject to
approval by group leaders because "we don't want anything that
would be orf-color cr offensive.”
Aguilar also is quoted as saying, “We are ready to
nove into Riverside and Iinpcrial Countiesand urge a general
Strike if the disputes cannot be settled.
