IA 161-1087 JMB: kfh/dek Sevtemer 22 1966 ET entura, California (By SA O'REILL) » California (By SA CONRAD N, SHAW) Regarding the arrest of CESAR ESTRADA CHAVEZ on June 30, 1966, by the Sheriff's Office, San Diego, California, for which no disposition is shown, it is to be noted that an article appeared in the "Los Angeles __-Times", a newspaper published at Los Angeles, California, on September 8, 1966, which disclosed that CESAR CHAVEZ and two ministers were fined $526.00 each and placed on two years probation for treapassing on the DiGiorgic Corporation property at Borrego Springs, California. The article pointed out that Justice Court Judge WILL L, STALNAKER suspended $250.00 of the fines for CHAVEZ, who is head of the NFWA and the ministers, Rever WAYNE HARTMIRE of Los Angeles, and Reverend VICTOR, SALANDINI of Escondido, California. The article pointed out that the ~ three had been convicted of treapassing on the property on June 29, 1966, and that eight laborers who were co-defendants were acquitted.
